Achieve Beautiful Skin without Complicated Treatments

There’s a general assumption that for something to be good -whether it be an aesthetic treatment, food, or even a tech device- it has to be quite really expensive and/or complicated. However, Micro-Needling has recently made its way up through the aesthetic and cosmetic dermatology industry, proving otherwise.

This simple and effective treatment is based on a collagen induction therapy (CIT) and is ideal to improve skin texture and tone, surface scars, and fine wrinkles. It can be used in almost all parts of the body, but it is most frequently used to treat the face, neck, decollete, and arms areas.

How Does Micro-Needling Work?

Micro-Needling is also known as Dermarolling (when a paint roller-like device is used) and Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI). As the scientific names imply, the purpose of this technique is to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production response by creating hundreds of tiny controlled punctures on the skin’s surface, which generate a microchannel that triggers the process to fill the small wounds with new collagen and elastin.

A professional pen-like device with sterile single-use surgical grade disposable needle tips is used to apply the treatment, which works in a similar fashion to a tattooing machine. The high-speed motor allows for the needle penetration to happen very quickly, so the sensation described is more like the feeling of sandpaper rubbed on the skin, rather than prickling. A topical anesthetic cream can be applied before treatment begins, if necessary.

The little holes created are only superficial, and since collagen is the building block of healthy and radiant skin, new collagen means better skin. Also, each puncture allows for better penetration of products, allowing serums and products to reach deeper into the skin. So through the processes of neo collagenesis and neovascularization, there is an improvement in skin firmness and texture, as well as a reduction in pore size, stretch marks, and scars.
